The Lagos State Police Command has apprehended a man named Monday Julius for the theft of a Toyota Yaris in the Oshodi area of Lagos State.
The arrest was made public in a statement shared on X.com on Monday. According to the release, officers from the Ilupeju division detained the 39-year-old suspect after launching an investigation into the car’s disappearance.
Julius was found in the process of dismantling the stolen vehicle, with the intention of selling it in parts. Thankfully, the vehicle has been recovered.
The statement reads: “Officers from the Ilupeju Division, while investigating the theft of a Toyota Yaris Saloon Car, which had been stolen from its parked location, arrested Monday Julius, male, aged 39, in the Oshodi area. The suspect had already begun disassembling the car for sale in parts, as he was unable to sell it whole. The vehicle has been successfully recovered, and investigations are ongoing.”
