The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) has sealed multiple establishments in the Lekki Phase I area for violating state environmental laws. This action was announced by Tokunbo Wahab, the Commissioner of the Ministry of Environment and Water Resources, in a post on X.com (formerly Twitter) on Friday.
Wahab emphasized that LASEPA’s actions reflect its commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and environmentally responsible atmosphere in Lagos. The establishments affected by this enforcement, including Kingfisher, Red Lagos, Logic Church, and Bolivar, were found to be non-compliant with environmental regulations despite previous warnings.
The commissioner noted that the crackdown is part of the agency’s broader efforts to enforce environmental laws and address issues such as noise pollution. This move follows similar actions taken earlier in August when the Lagos State Government sealed Landcraft Industries Nigeria and the Word of Light Christ Ministry (Camp of Light) for noise and environmental pollution-related violations.
