A wave of unease has swept over the Ajiran community in Agungi, Lekki, Lagos State, after the brutal murder of Demola, the eldest son of Tijani Akinloye, the Ojomu of Ajiran land.
The tragic incident took place on Monday along Chevron Drive, near the Ebano Supermarket, leaving the community in shock.
A reliable source, speaking on condition of anonymity due to the sensitivity of the situation, reported that fear has gripped the area, with many residents fleeing to avoid the rising tensions.
A message currently circulating among the community reads: “We regret to inform all residents that the son of the Ajiran (Agungi) king was tragically assassinated this morning near Ebano Supermarket, along Chevron Drive. We urge all residents to avoid the Chevron area, Agungi, and Ajiran for the time being for their safety.”
When contacted, Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, stated that he had not yet been informed of the incident but assured that he would provide details as soon as they become available.
